Job Opportunities

LIFE Center for Independent Living (LIFE CIL) advertises job opportunities that are available in at least the following places: in the Center, on our website and on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lifecil). We will also share the employment opportunity with area Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) offices and other Centers for Independent Living around the state.

Current Openings

PART-TIME RECEPTIONIST – PONTIAC OFFICE

$16.50 per hour with paid time off


9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday (16 hrs./week & additional 2 hours monthly)


The successful applicant will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to customer service, answering phones, and running our equipment loan program.

Skills and abilities should include (with or without accommodations):

  • At least one year’s experience working in an office environment
  • Basic telephone skills
  • Effective communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Efficient time management with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to operate standard office machines
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds for equipment loan program.
  • Personal experience with disability is helpful, commitment to independent living philosophy and advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities essential.
