LIFE Center for Independent Living Fundraiser
LIFE Center for Independent Living is hosting an exhibition wheelchair basketball game.
WHEN: Saturday, April 24, 2010
TIME: Game begins at 11:00 a.m. Doors open at 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Kingsley Junior High School, 303 Kingsley, Normal
WHO: The University of Illinois wheelchair basketball teams and a team from State Farm Activities Association (SFEA)
This event will raise funds for LIFE Center for Independent Living and raise awareness of wheelchair sports.
Tickets are on sale now at LIFE Center for $5.00 each, children 5 and under are free.
Tickets are also available at the door.
The event will also offer concessions, informational tables with a door prize and a silent auction.
Eligibility: Minorities with disabilities and/or individuals with disabilities living in rural communities.
Particulars: Program involves seven weekly two hour classes at LIFE Center for Independent Living in Bloomington, and two separate trips to Springfield.
Classes: Begin Wednesday, April 7th and will include sessions on how a bill becomes a law; meeting and communicating with a legislator; and how to actively participate in the legislative process, disability rights and the disability rights movement.
Cost: FREE! All transportation, trips, meals and accommodations provided.

You must:
- be a legal resident of Illinois;

There are no age or income restrictions.
