Job Opportunities

LIFE Center for Independent Living (LIFE CIL) advertises job opportunities that are available in at least the following places: in the Center, on our website and on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lifecil). We will also share the employment opportunity with area Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) offices and other Centers for Independent Living around the state.

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to customer service, program support and office administration.

Skills and abilities should include (with or without accommodations):

  • At least two years’ experience working in an office environment
  • Effective communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Efficient time management with frequent interruptions
  • Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collate, alphabetize, and file documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 with emphasis on Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Computer word processing and database entry skills of at least 50 WPM
  • Bookkeeping, purchasing, A/R & A/P experience a plus
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds for equipment loan program
  • Personal experience with disability helpful; commitment to independent living philosophy and advocacy for the rights of persons with disabilities essential
