Wheelchair Basketball 2018

Saturday, April 7, 2018

The University of Illinois Wheelchair Basketball Team will return to Kingsley Junior High School.

We are working on gathering a team of their opponents.

This will be the 10th anniversary of this event for LIFE CIL.

We are hoping to make it the best event we have ever had!

More details to come!

Wheelchair Basketball 2017 was a success!

On behalf of LIFE Center for Independent Living (LIFE CIL)’s Board of Directors and staff, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all of the support of this year’s Wheelchair Basketball event. Guests enjoyed the exciting wheelchair basketball game, as well as the silent auction and other activities.  Your support made this year’s event the second most profitable event in nine years. We could not have done that without you and your support! Again this year, the funds raised were so important given the situation with the on-going state budget crisis. These funds will help support the programs and services LIFE CIL provides in our community and we were able to pay for two youth to attend the University of Illinois Wheelchair Sports Camps this summer.

We are so grateful that the University of Illinois Wheelchair Basketball Teams have continued to support LIFE CIL and have continually agreed to help make this event possible.  Members of the men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams came to Kingsley Junior High School on Saturday, April 8, 2017 to play against Be Strong.  Be Strong is a functional training gym located in Normal, and they agreed to have a team of ten to fifteen individuals represent LIFE CIL as our home team for the 2017 event.
